Description: This catawbiense hybrid is another introduction of Anthony Waterer of the Knap Hill Nurseries, probably a seedling of 'Roseum Elegans'. Its flower color is a good clear pink-rose that would satisfy anyone who wanted a pink flowering rhododendron - unless it is placed next to some of the newer hybrids, such as the Dexters, which have eliminated the light lavender tone evident in the early catawbiense hybrids, including 'English Roseum'. It has an excellent upright plant habit, dark green leaves and “Ironclad” hardiness. This is one of our two standard pink rhododendrons, along with ‘Roseum Pink’.
