Kalmia latifolia 'Minuet'
(Minuet Mountain Laurel)

Botanical Name:
Kalmia latifolia 'Minuet'

Common Name:
Minuet Mountain Laurel

Plant Hardiness: Zone 4

Flower: Light pink buds open white with a broad maroon band within.

Bloom Time: June

Foliage: The glossy, dark green evergreen leaves are smaller than the type plant.

Fruit: A small brown capsule that will hold on into winter.

Habit: This variety is a compact grower. Multi-stemmed and low branching creating a nice small mound.

Size: 3 feet by 3 feet

Sun Exposure: Full sun for the best shaped plants but it can take a bit of shade.

Native Habitat: Eastern North America

Other Features: This is a Dick Jaynes selection.

Description: ‘Minuet’ has buds that are light pink but when the flower opens, you will find a broad maroon band inside the individual floret. The plant habit tends to be quite a bit like ‘Elf’ but in my estimation more diminutive.
